Butler's Bunch Cancer Support Group
Butler’s Bunch is Compass Memorial Healthcare’s cancer support group, formed in November 2017 as a direct result of the Hope for All Program and the vision and persistence of program recipient Ross Butler. During his own cancer journey, Ross advocated for a place right here, close to home, where patients and their caregivers could come together, share experiences, and draw strength from one another. His request was simple, but powerful: No one should have to go through cancer alone.
From that request, Butler’s Bunch was born.
Today, the group provides patients and their loved ones with a safe, confidential space to talk openly about treatment, side effects, fear, resilience, faith, survivorship, celebrations, grief, and the very real day-to-day of living with, or supporting someone with, cancer. Participants include patients currently in treatment, survivors, caregivers, spouses, adult children, friends, and support partners.
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at Compass Memorial Healthcare at 6:30 p.m., and sessions are facilitated by Ellie Krakow, LMSW.
Butler’s Bunch reflects a community circle that listens, understands, encourages, and lifts one another up, right here in our own community. Options to attend are in person or through web. Please contact the host (information below) to set this up off campus attendance.
