Certified Surgical Technologist

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of Accredited Surgical Technology program or Military Training. Surgical Tech Certification required prior to hire, but exceptions may be considered for those who have completed an accredited surgical technology program and are eligible for certification, or for those whose certification has lapsed but are actively pursuing renewal.
• Experience in OR/CS is preferred.
• BLS certified.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned area. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training, or experience.
• Must be able to multi-task accurately and efficiently.
• Must be able to work under stress when confronted with critical or unusual situations.
• Must be able to work in situations requiring staying within an exact set of limits, tolerance, or standards.
• Ability to follow instructions explicitly.
• Must have the ability to work with associated technologies relevant to the position.
• Must possess the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in written form, needs and solutions with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
